Door Features

Edge-Banding
The edge of the door is constructed with a single piece of alder that is between ½” to ¾”. This edge-banding maintains the look of alder even after the door has been beveled.

Veneer
The face of the door has a 1/8” skin. This thick skin allows for a natural look, in addition it allows the door to be distressed.

Engineered Stiles/Rails
Stiles are the long vertical components on the left and right sides of a door. Rails are the horizontal components on the top, bottom and middle of a door. ‘Engineered’ in Trans-Pac doors describes the process of gluing multiple pieces of wood together. Engineered stiles and rails are sturdier and less susceptible to warping and bending in the life of a door. The appearance is the same as non-engineered stiles and rails, but the strength and durability is dramatically improved.

Rubber Gasket
The panels include a thin layer of rubber around the edge of our panels. This allows for the panel to float and still allow for natural shrinking and expanding, while maintaining the strength of the door.

Dowels
In the door’s construction, dowels have been placed between the stiles and rails. This construction strengthens the door and prevents it from warping and sagging. Four dowels are used in the bottom rail, three dowels in the lock rail, and three dowels in the top rail. The dowels are four inches long and half an inch wide.
