E.C.M.A. is a simple partnership company, founded in 1977. Its prime activity is engineering consultation, design, tendering, technical specifications, and supervision on marine related projects. The office is located in Cairo, Egypt.
Work in E.C.M.A. is supervised by Mr. Gamal Abul-Azm, the president and founder. Mr. Abul-Azm has obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University in 1950. He had worked for five years in the Egyptian Navy then shared in the Nationalization of the SUEZ CANAL Company, then nineteen years in the Suez Canal Authority, working as Head of Technical Section Procurement Department and the General Manager of Port Said Shipyard. He retired from SCA in 1976 as the Chairman of Timsah Shipyard (an SCA affiliate) (1200 labors that time). Mr. Abul-Azm has over fifty years of experience in the area of shipbuilding and offshore works. Mr. Abul-Azm is a Charter engineer, and Fellow, Institute of Marine Engineers, London. |
