Divine Masters Ltd, is a company incorporated in 2007. It has mobilized low income farmer families to carry on commercial soybean growing. Because of their poverty situation, these farmers have inadequate access to necessary inputs required for commercial soy bean production.
The smallholder farmers in this area mainly engage in subsistence farming producing maize, groundnuts, sesame, millet, sorghum, rice, beans, sunflower, coffee among other agricultural produce. DIVINE MASTERS provides seeds, other farm inputs, production loans and agronomic extension services to its members. It also provides marketing services by bulking members’ agricultural produce and eventually negotiating better prices for it. DIVINE MASTERS has relatively adequate storage capacity (100 metric tones) and is therefore able to store members’ produce during harvest periods and sells it off once produce prices improve thereby fetching members’ better income.
