Rwenzori Seeds Ltd is a full line Agri-Input company that was incorporated on January 28th, 2009 and became operational in October, 2009 for the purpose of delivering quality seed and other agro inputs to the small –holder farmers who produce over 90% of agricultural output in Uganda.
The company’s business is to transfer seed technologies developed through public and private research institutions into the hands of farmers. It is engaged in production, processing and marketing of seed varieties for cereal crops – maize, sorghum, rice and millet, Legume crops – beans and groundnut and Oil crops - soybean and sesame. The company is also importing/producing and marketing vegetable and tree seeds under its brand name. The seed technologies for the field crops are mainly from the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO).
