C1301 Thermostatic Mixing Valve


Installation

The C1301 thermostatic mixing valve can be mounted on the main pipe to control the total system in one temperature, or connected to the individual terminal device to get respective temperature.

The connection marked red dot must be connected to the hot water supply; the connection marked blue dot must be connected to the cold water supply. The third connection is the outlet of the thermostatically mixed water.

When the pressure of the cold water and the pressure of the hot water are provided by the same source or are equal, the valve will work very well.

When the pressures of two inlets are different, to prevent the water with higher pressure from entering into the water with lower pressure when the valve is not being used, check valve should be installed on the two inlets to the mixing valve.

On some unusual occasion the pressure difference between hot water and cold water is so big that the check valve on the lower pressure side will be shut off. For example, the cold water will be 10 bars; hot water will be 0.5bar. Pressure reducing should be adopted on the higher side. To some unpressurized solar hot water system, if the pressure of the unpressurized solar hot water is too low to open a check valve, take off the check valve first. Then, reduce the cold water pressure to the same of the hot water.

In order to avoid blocking of the mechanism or loss of precision, it is important to install filters before the check valve; the filter will remove contaminants and particles which may be presents in the water.



Adjustment

The C1301 thermostatic mixing valve can be adjusted to provide mixing temperatures as indicated in the table.

Lift the hand wheel against the return spring first, and then, turn it until the desired position is reached, at last, release and the spring returns it into contact with the valve body. The hand wheel engages
