Product Details Converter OMP Eco Product Description: Converter is a waste sterilizer that, at the state of the art, is really unique in his kind, having prevented and even today overcome the prescription of the Kyoto protocol regarding the waste. Differently from autoclaves, which operate under pressure and therefore consume a lot of energy, the Converter sterilizer, tough applying the same sterilizing method, referred to as “moist heat”, works under a light vacuum, so performing in this way a very simple process although far more efficient. The resulting sterilized product corresponds to a simple municipal waste, which looks like free-flowing small granules with characteristics similar to sawdust, dehydrated and with an high calorific power, good for thermal stations (i.e. the obtained Municipal Solid Waste can be utilized as a real Refuse Derived Fuel). Converter sterilizers are in use in several hospitals and treatment stations around the world: Italy, Romania, China, Brazil, Turkey, South Africa, Botswana, Russia, etc. It was projected for treating and sterilize all medical waste that can be dangerous for man and animals, because of the potential pathogens bioburden. The process develops into simples steps, which are performed in a unique chamber, as hereunder shortly described: Crushing at high speed, meanwhile providing heating of the medical waste by frictions, dehydration by evaporation of all the humidity Sterilization realized by injecting water on the hot material once reached the temperature over 150° C Cooling down and unloading.
